Josie Porter Farm

The Josie Porter Farm is going into their tenth season of operation and operates on a portion of the former Snyder Farm, which is owned by Stroud Township. The main program of the farm is the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) operation with many membership options. There is an on-farm buying club market that is open year round and garlic products from the farm are sold at garlic festivals throughout the Northeast. The farm offers non-certified organic vegetable from their farm and other healthy, whole foods from local and regional sources. The farm, envisioned by farm manager Heidi Secord and her husband Gary Bloss, focuses on the legacy of Porter, who made biodynamic agriculture preparations in this country for almost three decades at this farm. Biodynamic growers recognize the soil itself to be alive and that human health and vitality depend upon the health and vitality of the soil. The mission of the farm is to connect people to the earth through agriculture, education and community.
