The Bethlehem Area Public Library is excited to announce its first BAPL AppleFest, a free event held in collaboration with Scholl Orchards! Join us on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 4-6 PM at the Main Library to celebrate and enjoy wonderful local specialties from the orchard and beyond.

Scholl Orchards and the BAPL have been cornerstone institutions in the Bethlehem community for many years, providing good food, good books, and more. The library provides countless services beyond its fine book collection, just as Scholl Orchards provides a wide array of healthy and delicious fruits, vegetables, and other farm-based products to our community. The BAPL AppleFest will bea partnership among community-minded businesses and organizations, all coming together to celebrate and support one another, and the community at large.

 

The highlight event will be Scholl Orchards’ apple tasting. They will provide over ten bite-size samples of a variety of apples, as well as sips of their locally pressed cider. There will be activities for all ages, including a children’s corner with apple-themed games and harvest-themed library books (available for check-out). Jake Scholl and his sons, Oliver and Leo, will be making an appearance for a chance to “meet the farmer.” A pop-up Back Door Bakeshop store will be offering cookies, apple cider donuts, and pumpkin rolls for purchase. There will be a basket raffle, as well as BAPL t-shirts, bags, and more for sale. Updates about the Bethlehem Food Co-Op will be available at this event, as well.
