Learn the basics of saving seeds at The Seed Farm in this half-day practicum with Amirah Mitchell of Sistah Seeds. We’ll start in the field by learning how to determine when a crop is ready to save seeds and will then help bring in the harvest. After lunch, participants will learn both wet and dry seed processing methods on the crops harvested that morning. Equipment highlights include millet wet seed separator, DIY zig zag aspirator, and additional processing methods. Participants will gain a sense of what seed saving can look like for a small-scale farm and will get hands-on experience with seed crops. Bring your questions!
