Rodale Institute Film Series: “Evolution of Organic”
Feb 23rd, 2019; 1-3 pm
Join us for a community screening of the documentary film Evolution of Organic in
Rodale Institute’s theater, located next to the Rodale Institute Garden Store. Evolution of Organic,
released in 2017, chronicles the organic movement in North America. Along the way, it
introduces audiences to some of the driven characters who believed passionately in a better food system
and ultimately helped set the organic movement in motion. Ticketholders will enjoy complimentary
refreshments and have the opportunity to take a self-guided walking tour of the Rodale Institute farm.
There is no fee for attending this event. A donation of $5 or $10 to Rodale Institute is suggested.
Donations in any amount support Rodale Institute’s work conducting research on the benefits of
organic, training new regenerative organic farmers, and communicating the advantages of organic for
people and the planet. Reserve your spot here.
Come say hey to Buy Fresh Buy Local GLV at this year’s flower show! We’ll have a stand so people can learn more about our program and connect to local foods resources! Plus, on Friday at 5pm, our Outreach Coordinator, Ellen Underwood, will be doing a free seminar called “Living Local: Navigating your Meaningful Role in the Local Foods Economy.” The event is a great way to spend the weekend and has lots to offer: “More flowers! More gardening! More family-fun! Don’t miss the annual Lehigh Valley Flower & Garden Show at the Agri-plex, #AllentownFairgrounds in Allentown, PA. The Lehigh Valley Flower & Garden show ushers in Spring with beautiful gardens, flower arranging demonstration & free seminars, kid-friendly exhibits and activities, and lots of garden-related supplies. Don’t miss this year’s show with even more flowers.”
