Local Food Market Offering Winter Buying Club
The Downtown Allentown Local Food Market is now offering a Winter Buying Club to progress with modern methods of consumer food shopping. Products from farmers and small businesses that attended the Fresh Fridays market all season at 7th and Hamilton will be able to be ordered online and delivered door to door for Strata residents in downtown Allentown. Additional pick up locations at Greenmouth on the ArtsWalk also downtown and Godshall Farm in Coopersburg are available. We are adding new locations for groups of 5 or more members. Owner Nicole Shelly said “We are excited to offer an efficient method to deliver healthy, local food this winter.” Owner Steve Shelly added “Neither customers nor vendors want to be outside in the freezing cold trying to conduct business.”
Local food and drinks will be available from Wild Fox Farm, Huldufolk Homestead, Greenmouth, Switchback Pizza, The Bread Box and Bakery, Godshall Farm, Frass Valley, Flint Hill Farm, Schocharie Ridge and Miller’s Maple Products. There are several other vendor types in the plan and we can add more products as demand grows.
We will be start with a prototype for the Strata residents only upon signing up starting November 17 continuing November 22 and December 1st.
