At the farm, we've incorporated sustainability efforts and continue to implement new efforts every year. We are using sustainable farming practices such as integrated pest management (IPM)- OMRI listed products only, and organic farming methods- OMRI listed products only, to reduce the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. We currently grow using Organic Practices for our vegetable production and use conventional methods only when necessary in our orchard and vineyard. We've implemented crop rotation and will incorporate cover cropping this year to improve soil health and reduce erosion. We have low till areas on the farm and are converting our high tunnel to no/low till practices this year. We offer a community supported agriculture (CSA) program to promote local food production and reduce food miles. We collaborate with other farmers and local organizations to share resources and knowledge, fostering a sense of community and sustainability within the farming industry. We use compostable and reusable packaging as much as possible to reduce waste. We have a composting program on site to reduce waste and create compost that is then incorporated into our fields. We are also committed to biodiversity conservation by preserving natural habitats, creating wildlife corridors, planting hedgerows, and maintaining diverse ecosystems on our farm. This supports pollinators, beneficial insects, birds, and other wildlife, which contribute to pest control and ecosystem resilience.
