Red Cat is a woman operated small farm in northern Lehigh County that raises vegetable and herb starter plants in the spring, selling them at the Mill in Germansville, and small grains grown using organic methods on rented land at the foot of the Blue Mountain. Red Cat Farm offers wheat flours, rye flour, and wheatberries, ryeberries, oat groats, plus granola, rolled oats and whole wheat pancake mix .

We have solar panels to power the watering system for the high tunnel and fields here at the farm, and a solar backup system with batteries that will sustain the walk-in cooler, weighing equipment, and more during a power outage. I seed cover crops on the rented fields used to grow the grains and attempt to reduce tillage as much as possible. Only organic fertilizers are used to amend the soils as needed. The starter plants are grown at the home farm in the solar heated high tunnel on compost heated hot beds that eliminate the need for fossil fuels or electricity to raise these tender plants.
